Avelize - Shopify Expert Agency

Migrate to Shopify Plus without losing your SEO rankings.

Seamless, data-secure migrations from Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or custom builds to Shopify Plus.

What this page covers

Avelize migrates ecommerce stores to Shopify Plus while protecting product data, customer records, URLs, redirects, metadata, analytics, and the organic rankings that keep revenue flowing.

When this matters

Replatforming matters when Magento, WooCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or a custom stack has become expensive to maintain, slow to improve, or risky for growth.

What Avelize improves

  • Platform migration planning
  • SEO-safe redirect and canonical mapping
  • Data migration QA
  • Launch and post-launch monitoring

How Avelize works

  1. Diagnose: We review the current storefront, crawl paths, analytics, customer journey, and business constraints before recommending changes.
  2. Prioritize: We rank fixes by revenue impact, crawlability, conversion risk, implementation effort, and launch safety.
  3. Implement: We ship controlled improvements in code, content, UX, schema, internal links, or integrations depending on the page goal.
  4. Measure: We validate the outcome through Search Console, analytics, QA checks, and follow-up optimization.

The Migration Playbook

Our migration process is heavily documented and risk-averse. We run parallel staging environments and conduct extensive Quality Assurance (QA) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) before flipping the DNS, guaranteeing a launch day without surprises.

What actually breaks rankings in a migration

Traffic loss after replatforming is rarely caused by the new platform. It is caused by changing several signals at once and having no map back to the old ones.

  • URLs change and redirects are incomplete. Not just products: paginated collection pages, filtered URLs, old blog paths, image files and PDF assets all hold links.
  • Redirects chain. Old URL to interim URL to final URL loses signal and crawl budget at every hop. Each source URL should reach its destination in one step.
  • Content is rewritten during the move. A page that changes address and body text at the same time gives Google no continuity to follow.
  • Internal linking is rebuilt from the navigation. Deep pages that previously earned links from body content become orphans.
  • Structured data and metadata are regenerated from templates and lose the hand-written titles that were ranking.

Shopify URL constraints you cannot change

Shopify enforces URL prefixes. Knowing them before the redirect map is drawn prevents rework, because they determine how much of your existing structure can survive.

Fixed Shopify URL prefixes
ResourcePath
Product/products/handle
Collection/collections/handle
Product inside a collection/collections/handle/products/handle — canonical should point to /products/handle
Static page/pages/handle
Blog and article/blogs/blog-handle/article-handle

A Magento or WooCommerce site with category paths in product URLs cannot keep that shape. The nested collection path exists but should not be the canonical, or the same product becomes indexable at as many URLs as it has collections.

The sequence we follow

Order matters more than tooling. We crawl the live site and pull Search Console data first, so the redirect map is built from URLs that demonstrably have traffic, links or impressions rather than from a database export. Everything else follows from that inventory: redirect mapping and review, data migration with reconciliation counts, theme and template build, a staging crawl against the map, then launch.

After launch we monitor Search Console coverage, server logs and rankings for the first weeks, because the redirects that were missed announce themselves as 404s in the logs long before they appear as lost rankings.
